Elearning Heroes Challenge 273

A new week and a new challenge on the Articulate Elearning Heroes website

This week the challenge is using the scrolling panel in a demo piece.

I like the scrolling panel but have never really had chance to play with how it works other than for displaying large text paragraphs. so for this challenge, I thought I would experiment with creating a page that replicates a simple scrolling web page, sized for mobile devices.

I am never a fan of creating sample Articulate Storyline builds with Lorem Ipsum text in them so i needed a subject to put in my demo. I am fascinated by castles and old ruins, and their architecture, and decided on Whitby Abbey which I absolutely love. We have visited a couple of times, and just find the ruins so grand and beautiful.

I was interested in putting together a short timeline to show the history of the ruins, and used both Wikipedia, and the English Heritage website as my information sources. I managed to pull together some key dates in the ruins history which I have created as a chronological timeline.

In this first version, I just have text. Take a look…

For my next version, I want to add to the text with images, maps, and any historical references I can obtain from resources such as the National Archives, or Creative Commons. Watch this space.
